Victor Image Processing Library How-to Tips

Visual Basic Picture Box: Load and save images

A Visual Basic Picture Box is an object designed specifically to display images.

The Victor Library contains functions to load and save images in all the popular image formats: BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PNG, TGA, and TIFF.

This sample application, Pboxer, demonstrates how to use the Victor Library loadfile and savefile functions with the VB picture box control. Load an image directly or select a page from a multipage TIFF file, or an individual frame from an animated GIF file.

When a multiple-image file is selected, Pboxer displays the images in thumbnails for selection of the image to load.

Pboxer also demonstrates how to copy and paste to and from the clipboard.

The Pixel Value form accesses individual pixels, displays (x,y) coordinates, the pixel value, and the corresponding RGB palette entries.

Download Pboxer application and source code. Requires the Victor Library v 5.52 commercial release or eval version.
